Lucknow, Dec 21 (UNI) Amid growing differences between the Congress led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre and Bahujan Samaj Party government in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Mayawati paid a courtesy visit to Governor T V Rajeswar here today.

In the meeting between the two, which lasted for about an hour at the Raj Bhavan, several issues relating to developmental projects and other matters were discussed, official sources said.

Yesterday, the state governemnt had blamed the Centre for the fertilizer and power crisis in the state. The state government had also alleged that the Union government was not giving due consideration to the demand of the special financial package for UP.

Recently, a difference in opinions had cropped up between the Governor and the CM during Annual Police Parade when the former had suggested implementation of police commissioner system in the state. But Ms Mayawati had turned down the suggestion claiming there was several lacunae in the police system and it was not the right time to implement it.

During his speech at the Police Parade, the Governor expressed concerns on the large-scale distribution of arms licences which was leading to a law and order problem.
