Manipuris condemn Pourabi bomb blast

Imphal, Dec 21: Manipuris have reacted strongly to the bomb blast at Pourabi in Imphal East District last week.

At least seven were killed and 30 were injured in the incident. The blast took place near a military camp at Lamlai, about 15 km east of Imphal. A public meeting was held recently at Pourabi where an explanation was demanded from the militant outfit about their role in the incident. “As a citizen, I feel deeply shocked. All of us must do something to prevent such incidents from occurring again," said Jamini Devi, a school teacher.

The All Manipur Nupi Marup took out a protest rally around the Imphal market, terming the blast a terrorist act.

The Revolutionary Peoples" Front, an underground group, has taken responsibility for the attack.
