Election Commission organises training for counting process

Shimla, Dec 21 (UNI) The Election Commission today organised a training for election officials for counting of votes through special software.

The state electoral officer Manisha Nanda while presiding the training session in Himachal Pradesh Secretariat here said for the counting operation, transmission of election result data through Genesys Software technique would be adopted.

She said a round-wise counting information from returning officers would reach at district headquarters. To ensure the counting process proceed in a smooth and transparent manner, elaborate arrangements had been made, she added.

She said Himachal Pradesh unit of National Informatics Centre (NIC) would assist the Election Commission in counting of votes.

The counting of votes for 68 constituencies would be held on December 28.
