Advani condoles Teji Bachchan's demise

New Delhi, Dec 21 (UNI) Senior BJP Leader L K Advani has mourned the death of Teji Bachchan, mother of Bollywood mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan.

In a condolence message, Mr Advani said ''I am extremely sad to learn about the sad demise of Teji Bachchan, mother of Amitabh Bachchan. Everyone knows that like his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan Smt Bachchan had exercised a great influence on Amitabh throughout his life.'' He further said, ''I well recall that she had arranged a special programme on Amitabh's first film 'Saat Hindustani' produced and directed by Khwaja Ahmed Abbas for me and my family.'' Teji was admitted to Leelavati Hospital in Bandra 18 months ago.

Her condition had deteriorated a few weeks back and she was shifted to the ICU. The end came at 1315 hrs in the hospital.
