2 idol smugglers arrested, idols seized

Lucknow, Dec 21 (UNI) Allahabad Police today arrested two idol smugglers and seized two 'ashtadhatu' idols estimated at Rs 8 crore in the international market.

Police said here, Sheshnag and Parvez Ahmad were nabbed in Kodihar town under Nawabganj area of Allahabad district.

The idols of Lord Ram and Janaki weighing 15 kgs were stolen from a temple in Azamgarh district, police informed.

The accused had been sent to jail.
