11 kg 'charas' seized, 3 arrested

Kanpur, Dec 21 (UNI) Police have recovered 11 kg 'charas' with the arrest of three people here.

Police Superintendent (City) Atul Saxena said today, notorious smuggler Manoj Tiwari and his two gang members Umesh Chandra Gupta and Sonu Tiwari were nabbed late last night with the contraband.

The 'charas' was estimated at Rs 6 lakh in the international market.

The accused used to source the 'charas' from Nepal.

Their network was spread across several districts, besides Kanpur, Mr Saxena informed.

The trio belong to Kanpur.
