Delhi HC receives threatening e-mail; security beefed up

New Delhi, Dec 20 (UNI) The Delhi High Court authorities received an anonymous e-mail threatening to cause an explosion on the court premises.

It assumes significance in view of the recent blasts in UP courts.

Besides this, the Delhi police had also reported threats looming over Indira Gandhi International airport.

According to the the Delhi High Court Registrar, he had got it sometime before the UP blasts and forwarded the e-mail to the Union Home Ministry.

Security on the premises of the court has since been heightened.

The Registrar also assured the jurists of doing everything possible to avert any attack on the court premises.

The Delhi High Court Bar Association sources added that the e-mails mentioned threats to lives of the judges, including the High Court Chief Justice.
