Itanagar, Dec 20 (UNI) The Arunachal Pradesh government has decided to establish two district and sessions courts at Yupia and Tezu, to facilitate speedy justice, Law, Legislative and Justice Minister Tako Dabi said here today.

Mr Dabi was responding to the observations made by legislators R K Khrimey and J K Panggeng in the Assembly yesterday, regarding the Central Laws (Extension to Arunachal Pradesh) Bill 2007, introduced on Monday last, before it was unanimously passed.

Such laws have become relevant to the state in every sphere of administration, for which it is considered expedient to extend those pre-constitutional central laws with suitable modifications, in their application to the state.

The Advocate General and Law Secretary were consulted before the Cabinet gave its nod to the Bill, Mr Dabi added.

It might be mentioned here that besides district courts in 16 districts, fast-track courts are presently functional at Yupia, Basar and Namsai.
