KYKL accuses officials for misuse of funds

Imphal, Dec 19: The proscribed Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) has accused an Assistant Inspector of Schools of siphoning off the Mid Day Meal Scheme (MDMS) funds under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and asked him to take voluntary retirement.

The KYKL alleged that Oinam Kesho, a Manipur Education department official, had made false records and increased the number of students and schools to extract more funds, which he misused.

It further alleged that he reduced the quantity of rice from the allotted rice bags.

The official was also accused of extorting money from the employees and the KYKL asked him to return the money he had wrongly taken.
