4 killed as portion of a house caves in

Tiruchirapalli, Dec 19: Four people of a family died on the spot when a portion of their house caved in, following heavy rains in the city early today.

Police said the deceased were identified as K Janakiraman (43), his wife Jothibai (36) and sons Mahesh (17) and Manikandam (10).

On information, Fire service personnel rushed to the spot, removed the bodies from the rubble and sent it to the Government Headquarters hospital for post-mortem.
