Former MLA acquitted in murder case

Patna, Dec 19 (UNI) A local Fast Track court today acquitted four people, including former MLA Ranveer Yadav, in the sensational jailer murder case.

Fast Track court judge Ajeet Kumar Sinha acquitted Mr Yadav, Naveen Kumar, Ram Avtar Rai and Shiv Gope in the case relating to the murder of a Jailer, posted at Phulwarisharif camp jail.

The judgement said the prosecution had failed to prove its charge.

According to the FIR, registered with Gardanibagh police station, Krishn Upadhyay, the then Jailer of Phulwarisharif camp jail, was shot dead near Jagdev Path under Gardanibagh police station here on September 20, 1996.

All the accused were facing charges for their complicity in the murder of the Jailer, according to the FIR.
