Expedite developmental schemes: Divisional Commissioner

Dumka, Dec 19 (UNI) Santhal Pargana divisional commissioner Amrendra Pratap Singh today directed the deputy comissioners to associate the local people in developmental schemes to check naxalism.

Addressing a high-level meeting to discuss the naxal problem in Santhal Pargana area here, Mr Singh said that people were diverting towards naxalism and the trend could be checked through associating them in various developmental schemes.

The deputy commissioners and superintendents of police of all six districts including Deoghar, Dumka, Pakur, Sahebganj, Jamtara and Godda were present in the meeting.

Mr Singh said the police force working in the area would be equipped with advance arms and ammunition.

Recently state Agriculture Minister Nalin Soren who represents Shikaripara Assembly segment of Dumka, also urged the state government to deploy Jharkhand Arms Police in the area.
