Dimpa gets regular bail in SAD (B) worker's death case

Chandigarh, Dec 19 (UNI) Punjab and Haryana High Court justice S S Saron today granted regular bail to former Punjab MLA Jasbir Singh Dimpa, accused of killing a SAD (B) supporter during the campaign for the assembly polls held in February-March this year.

Dimpa was at present lodged in Amritsar jail in the murder case registered against him and 11 others following the death of a Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) worker on January 29 in Beas assembly segment after a clash between SAD and Congress activists during the campaign.

He had surrendered on June 13 after being declared a proclaimed offender in this case on June 8 by a Baba Bakala court.

Dimap was the sitting MLA and Congress candidate from Beas constituency, but lost to the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) candidate when polling was held on March 11.
