Russia,Germany support diplomatic efforts on Kosovo,Iran,CFE Treaty

Moscow. Dec 18 (UNI) Russia and Germany have spoken in favour of continuing political and diplomatic efforts in Kosovo, Iran, and on the Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE) Treaty.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier met on the sidelines of a donor conference on Palestinian National Authority (PA) in Paris yesterday.

''The Ministers discussed topical issues on the international agenda, including the Kosovo settlement, the Iranian nuclear issue, the Middle Eastern situation, and the CFE Treaty," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement today.

''A common opinion that it is important to continue making active political and diplomatic effort in these tracks in order to work out balanced decisions that would contribute to strengthening both global and regional security,'' the statement says, Interfax agency reported.

''The Russian side touched upon the issue of Germany's assessments of the State Duma elections that took place on December 2,'' the Ministry said.
