Robber lynched, robbery bid foiled

Lucknow, Dec 18 (UNI) An unidentified robber was lynched by local people in Khair area of Aligarh district tonight.

However, two of his aides managed to escape.

Police said three motorcycle-borne miscreants tried to rob a trader Devendra Singh of Rs 7 lakh around 2000 hrs.

When he offerred resistence, they opened fire and wounded him, before trying to flee with the booty.

However, one of the miscreants was caught and beaten to death by the people, police added.

Investigations were on.
