Heavy rains lash Puducherry, disrupts life

Puducherry, Dec 18: Heavy rain lashed Puducherry and its suburbs since last night, disrupting normal life in the Union Territory.

Several low-lying areas were inundated. Vehicular traffic was affected as rainwater flooded some of the roads.

The Puducherry administration has declared a holiday for all educational institutions here for one and a half days from this afternoon.

Puducherry received 47.9 mm rain during the 24 hours ending at 0830 hrs today.
