Gujjars term the report disappointing

Jaipur, Dec 18(UNI) Gujjar Arakshan Sangarsh Samiti convenor Col Kirori Singh Bainsla said the Chopra commitee report was contrary to the agreement with the government, saying the community's struggle for ST status will contiue.

He said, ''The first phase of the agitation should be considered as only a 'trailer' while the full film will follow.'' Meanwhile, Samiti spokesman Dr Roop Singh said Gujjars felt ''let down'' by the report and were 'disappointed'.

He also alleged that the Chopra committee buckled under pressure from the Meena community.

The Gujjar leaders went in to a huddle at the Samiti office here after the report was made public. A team of Gujjar leaders will meet BJP president Rajnath Singh in Delhi and apprise him of the reaction of the community.

Samyukt Gujjar Arakshan Sangarsh Samiti co - ordinator and rebel BJP MLA Prahlad Gunjal while rejecting the Chopra Committee report warned the state government of waging a 'Mahabharat' if a letter by the state cabinet reccomending ST status to Gujjars was not forwarded to the Centre by January 21.
