Cold wave continue in UP, toll at 37

Lucknow, Dec 18 (UNI) The cold wave prevailing across Uttar Pradesh has hit the normal life with toll due to cold climbing to 37 so far.

A beggar succumbed due to cold in the state capital in the last 24 hrs.

Agra was recorded coldest in the state with a minimum temperature of 2.6 degree celsius, which was five degree below normal.

Luckno residents today witnessed a bright and sunny morning, but the chill in the air continued to prevail.

According to weatherman, the cold wave would continue to blow across the state for some days.

A dip was also recorded in the night temperature at Lucknow, Agra, Varanasi, Faizabad, Bareilly and Jhansi divisions.

The minimum temperature in Lucknow stood at 5.4, Kanpur at 5.8, Varanasi at 5.7, Gorakhpur at 7.4.

The Met Office has forecast dry weather for the next 24 hrs.

The dense fog has affected the road, rail and air traffic.

According to railway sources, several long distance trains were still running late.
