Indore, Dec 18 (UNI) Hundreds of BJP workers, including state BJP President Narendra Singh Tomar, MP Sumitra Mahajan, MLAs and MPs, today courted arrest charging the Centre for adopting anti-people policies.

A rally of party workers led by Mr Tomar was taken out from Rajwada and it culminated into a public meeting in front of the Divisional Commissioner's office.

Mr Tomar, Ms Mahajan and other party leaders courted arrest in a temporary jail prepared by the district administration.

They were released later.

Blaming the Centre for preparing the Setu Samundram project that disregarded people's belief, he said BJP workers will take part in the VHP-sponsored demonstration in New Delhi on December 30 against the project.

He said the policies of the UPA Government had led to price rise in the country. Madhya Pradesh was being meted out step-motherly treatment.

Mr Tomar alleged that an artificial fertiliser crises was created and Madhya Pradesh was refused fertiliser at the eleventh hour.

Besides, the Centre was not cooperating for power, road and rail projects.

He also raised issues regarding increase in terrorism activities, minority appeasement and reduction of agricultural subsidies.
