3 killed, 2 hurt as car hits tree

Coimbatore, Dec 18 (UNI) Three persons were killed and two others seriously injured when the car in which they were travelling hit a road side tree at Minnagar, near here, today.

Police said the mishap occurred when they were returning from a tour to Palani and the car driver lost control as a tyre of the car burst.

The deceased were identified as Subramani (52), a Bank Zonal Manager, Palakkad, wife Malathi (40) and his Son K Rajagopalan (18).

The deceased also belonged to a same family, police added.
