Bikaner hails bumper groundnut crop

Bikaner, 17 Dec, 2007 : The farmers in Bikaner have a reason to celebrate as their efforts have resulted in a bumper crop of groundnut this year. Recently, a record high auction of approximately 6 lakhs sacks of groundnuts took place on a single day at the Bikaner grain market. A single sack contains one-quintal groundnuts.

According to traders, the existing rates of groundnut in Bikaner are better than the previous year as there is a huge demand of groundnut oil in Asian nations, mainly, Singapore.
