Shivraj Patil condemns Imphal blast

Imphal, Dec 17 (UNI) Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil has condemned yesterday's blast near here which claimed seven lives and left 27 injured.

A statement issued by the Home Ministry said Mr Patil strongly condemned the bomb blast which took place near Imphal.

In a condolence mesage, the minister conveyed his sympathies to the families of the deceased and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured.

''Such desperate acts by anti-national elements will not help them in any manner and will only isolate them further,'' he added.

The minister said he was confident the state government will take all possible steps to avoid recurrence of such incidents and bring the culprits to book, the statement stated.
