Prakash to decide future after Gujarat polls
Hubli, Dec 17 (UNI) Former Deputy Chief Minister M P Prakash today said his decision to join any political party would depend on the outcome of the Gujarat assembly polls.
Addressing a press conference here, he said he has been approached by various political parties such as the BJP, Congress, BSP and JD(U).
''A meeting with like-minded people would be held on January 8 to decide my future course of action on joining any political party,'' he said.
If Mr Narendra Modi's BJP government sweeps back to power in Gujarat, a mid-term poll will be inevitable, he said, adding naturally political polarisation will take place.
He said he was ''fed up'' with former PM H D Deve Gowda and his sons as there was no internal democracy in the JD(S).
''One-sided decisions on party affairs had forced him and his followers to say goodbye to JD-S,'' he said.
The assembly elections in Karnataka are likely to be held in the third week of April 2008, he claimed.
