Patna records lowest temperature so far this season

Patna, Dec 17 (UNI) The mercury today nose-dived to as low as 7.3 degrees Celsius as against yesterday's 11.9 degrees Celsius, making it the coldest day of the season in the state capital so far.

The local Met office predicted no respite from the cold conditions, forecasting the minimum temperature to dip further due to westerly winds.

Met sources said the day's maximum temperature was recorded at 22.2 degrees Celsius while the maximum relative humidity was pegged at 74 per cent.

Despite the substantially cold conditions, the people here witnessed a clear weather and bright sunlight today.

The city had been experiencing shallow fog for the past several days, resulting in traffic gridlocks in the morning hours.

Meanwhile, the minimum temperature at Gaya was recorded at 6.8 degrees Celsius while it was 12.6 degrees Celsius at Bhagalpur and 7.8 degrees Celsius at Purnia.

The weatherman forecast a mainly clear sky with fog early tomorrow.
