Intl. Symposium on Food Processing from Dec 19

Mysore, Dec 17 (UNI) About 250 delegates from India and abroad will participate in a two-day international Symposium on 'Emerging and novel Food Processing Technology' to be held here from December 19, Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL) Director Dr A S Bawa said today.

Speaking to newsmen here, he said that the Symposium was being organised in collaboration with Mcgill University Montreal, Canada and Shastri Indo-Canada Institute, Canada.

He said that the delegates, representing Academia, Research and Development, besides 25 eminent scientists from India and abroad, would present lead research papers on the current development.

Dr Bawa said that the Symposium would also explore the most recent applications in Pulsed Electric Field (PEF), Irradiation and high pressure technologies, food microbiology and modern thermal and non thermal operations to prevent the occurence of food borne Pathogens, extend the shelf life of foods and improve the safety, quality nutritional value of various food products. It would also profile noteworthy innovations across companies, institutes and Univerisites worldwide.
