Four get life imprisonment for kidnapping BSNL Engineer

Patna, Dec 17 (UNI) A local court today awarded life imprisonment to four people in connection with kidnapping of a BSNL sub-divisional engineer.

The court also slapped a fine of Rs 2000 each on all the convicts.

Patna Additional District Sessions Judge B M Srivastava found the four accused guilty of abducting Umesh Chaudhary for ransom.

According to the charges, Mr Chaudhary was kidnapped while returning home to Kumharar under Kadamkuan police station area here on February 20, 2004.

However, Mr Chaudhary raised an alarm during a police checking at Maharani chowk under Fatua in the district and the miscreants were arrested.
