5 injured in Uttar Pradesh train accidents


Lucknow, Dec 15: At least five people, including two children, were seriously injured in separate train accidents in Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours.

Police said a three-wheeler, carrying school children in Sitapur district, was hit by the Century Express between Ataria and Sindhauli stations at an unmanned railway crossing this morning.

Three people, including one Abdul Kalam and two minor brothers Vishal and Ayush, were critically injured in the accident.

The injured had been referred to Lucknow.

A report from Hathras says a car was hit by Jodhpur-Varanasi Marudhar Express at an unmanned railway crossing late last night, in which two persons were injured.

The injured, identified as Manmohan and Pavitra Kapoor, were later rushed to Aligarh for treatment.
