Rs 7,605 crore Draft Annual Plan for Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 14 (UNI) The Kerala Government today prepared a Draft Annual Plan worth Rs 7,605 crore for 2008-09, effecting a hike of Rs 655 crore as compared to the previous year.

Talking to newspersons after attending a State Planning Board meeting, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said local bodies would get a sum of Rs 1,877 crore in the next financial year.

Stating that the emphasis would be given on agriculture, IT and tourism, he said the plan size would be finalised after a meeting with the Planning Commission, scheduled to be held on December 19.
