Ahmedabad, Dec 14 (UNI) Suresh Mehta, former BJP Chief Minister, who recently quit the Party, today lodged a complaint with the Election Commission, claiming that the live telecast of an interview of Chief Minister Narendra Modi to be aired on a local channel at 1930 hours today was a clear violation of Model Code of Conduct as campaigning ended this evening at 1700 hours.

Mr Mehta, who represent Sardar Patel Utkar Samiti (SPUS), an NGO platform set up by BJP rebels group, has written to the EC that in his interview Mr Modi would definitely talk about issues relating to his Party's campaigning and thus should be considered as a violation of Model Code of Conduct.

Mr Mehta in his complaint, a copy of which was faxed to the media here this evening, said Mr Modi was going on air after completion of the stipulated campaign time that ends at 1700 hours this evening.

He has also urged the EC to take prompt and appropriate action against violation of Model Code of Conduct by Mr Modi and the TV Channel.
