Indian woman faces domestic violence in Dubai

Twenty seven-year-old Indian merchant has been charged with illegally detaining his 24-year-old wife, assaulting her and threatening to kill her if she returned to their house.
However, the husband dismissed her claims before the Dubai Court of First Instance.In a statement to the public prosecution, the wife said, ''Ever since we have been married he has been quarrelling with me and constantly beating me up.'' ''One day, he stormed into the kitchen where I was standing. He pushed me and I cut my left arm with the knife which I was using.

added.
The
wife
testified
that
her
husband
threatened
to
kill
her
if
she
ever
reported
that
matter
to
her
parents
or
the
police,

Reiterating pains of the victim, a 36-year-old Indian principal told the court, ''She constantly complained that her husband and parents-in-law had treated her badly since they married.'' ''She also complained that he was a demanding husband. But, I always encouraged her to preserve her marriage,'' she added.
