Consumer Forum asks insurance company to pay Rs one lakh

Fatehabad, Dec 14 (UNI) The District Consumer Forum today directed an insurance company to pay Rs one lakh to sons of an accident victim, in settlement of their insurance claim.

Karan Singh and Rajbir Singh, two brothers of village Bhodia Khera in this district had filed a complaint in the forum that their father Ram Kishan had died after being injured in a road accident here in August, 2005.

Karan Singh and Rajbir Singh had applied for payment of insurance amount to the insurance company, but the company rejected their claim by raising several objections.

The Forum president N C Nahta and members Rajiv Mehta and Raj Bala Sheoran found the claim of Karan Singh and Rajbir Singh as justified and asked the company to settle their claim by paying Rs one lakh.
