Pakistan army for peace: Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani

Islamabad, 13 Dec, 2007 : Newly appointed Pakistan"s army chief Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani that harmony between socio-political and military strategies will lead to peace.

In his first public comments on the country's political scenario since he took over from President Pervez Musharraf, Kiyani advised military officers at Kharian Garrison in Punjab province that popular support for the army is "critical".
