Cambodia to ink agreement on single tourist visa
Bangkok, Dec 13 (UNI) Thailand and Cambodia will sign a single visa agreement next week enabling visitors of either country to travel to the other on the same visa.
Thai Foreign Minister Nitya Pibulsonggram will initial the accord with his Cambodian counterpart Mr Hor Namhong in Phnom Penh under the Ayeyawady-Chao Phya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS).
However, the agreement would be subject to regulations to be issued by Thai Interior Ministry and security agencies, the Thai foreign ministry announced.
The five-year-old ACMECS is a sub-regional development forum linking Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam.
The Thailand-Cambodia single visa agreement is a part of the ACMES "Four countries, One Destination" initiative aiming to promote tourism in the four neighbouring countries of South-east Asia.
Under the arrangement, visitors can use an entry visa for either Thailand or Cambodia to travel to both countries.
