Age relaxation for Excise constable aspirants
Hyderabad, Dec 13 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said age relaxation would be extended to those who had appeared for the Excise constables interview in 1994.
An official release said the Chief Minister gave an order in this regard after a review meeting with Excise Commissioner and other officials concerned.
In all, 3,220 candidates had appeared for the interview on October 19 and 23, 1994.
The government cancelled the recruitment drive on December 21, 2004.
Later, the High Court directed the government to consider the cases of 40 petitioners, who had appeared for the interview.
When the government challenged this in the Supreme Court, it directed the government to relax the age bar for the respondents while going in for fresh recruitment for the post of excise constables.
