Rupee opens weak at 39.40/42 per USD

Mumbai, Dec 12: The Rupee today opened weak by five paise against US Dollar at 39.40/42 from its previous close of 39.38 per dollar on selling pressure during the early trade.

The local unit was trading in a range band of 39.36 and 39.42 per dollar in a fairly active inter-bank foreign exchange (Forex) market, dealers said.
