Man arrested for possessing pirated CD wrappers

Chennai, Dec 12 (UNI) Officials of the Crime Branch-CID (SIT) arrested a person and seized 144 duplicate CD wrappers of newly released Tamil films at Sivakasi.

A CB-CID release here today said acting on the information that pirated CD wrappers were being printed and distributed to Salem, Dharmapuri and Puducherry for sale, a special team raided a Computer firm, Puvili Computers at Sivakasi and arrested its owner S Paramasivam (35).

During the raid, a computer, monitor, CPU with writer, keyboard, mouse and 144 duplicate wrappers were seized.

The accused was produced before a Judicial Magistrate Court at Sivakasi and remanded to judicial custody.
