IAF display in Bangkok to mark Thai King's 80th anniversary

Bangkok, Dec 12 (UNI) Nine aircraft of the Indian Air Force performed an aerial display at the Royal Thai Air Force base here this morning as part of the 80th birthday celebrations of the Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

The Kiran Mark II trainer aircraft were from the IAF Suryakiran Aerobatic team based in Hyderabad and earlier took part in the LIMA 07 aerial exercise in Malaysia.

Indian Ambassador to Thailand Latha Reddy and the Thai Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal Chalit Pookpasuk presided over the event.

The IAF planes flew from northeast India into Myanmar, stopping at Mandalay and then made a number of stops in Malaysia on their way to Thailand.

They will fly back the same way and perform in northeast India before returning to their base in Bidar near Hyderabad on December 24.
