Kohima, Dec 12: The Opposition Congress in Nagaland is likely to move a 'No Confidence' motion on the floor of the House against the Neiphiu Rio-led Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) ministry when it will assemble for a one-day session here tomorrow.

Congress sources said here today that the party had already decided to move the No Confidence motion following the withdrawal of support by the Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries and members from the DAN Ministry, who had also resigned from the Nagaland Peoples' Front (NPF), the major alliance partner of the DAN.

It was expected that many more members in the DAN alliance would also vote against the DAN coalition government, resulting in the defeat of the ruling alliance, when the 16th Session of the 10th Nagaland Legislative Assembly will meet at the New Assembly Secretariat here tomorrow morning, the sources added.

''It will depend on Speaker Kiyanilie Peseyie whether he will allow or disallow the motion on the floor of the House,'' the Congress said.

The present 60-member House has a strength of 55 members, following the resignation of five legislators from the Assembly.

The ruling alliance has a strength of 35 legislators, with 28 NPF, four BJP and three Independent members.

The Opposition has a strength of 20 members, with 17 Congress and two JD(U) and one Independent, who withdrew support to the DAN ministry.

According to political observers, if the No Confidence motion of the Congress became a success, there could be a possibility that the Chief Minister might recommend to dissolve the present NPF-led DAN ministry, which would then become the caretaker ministry till the next Assembly elections.
