Case registered against BJP MLA

Khargone, MP, Dec 12 (UNI) A case was registered against BJP legislator Babulal Mahajan, his son Kapil and four others in this district, police said today.

The case was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by Mr Bhupendra Yadav, nephew of Madhya Pradesh Congress president Subhash Yadav.

Earlier, Mr Mahajan had lodged a complaint against Mr Bhupendra Yadav and his friends after being allegedly beaten up by villagers.

Later, Mr Bhupendra was surrounded near a petrol pump and beaten up by Mr Mahajan and other BJP workers.

However, police did not register a case on Mr Bhupendra Yadav's complaint. Opposing this, people from surrounding villages gheraoed the police station forcing police to resort to mild force to disperse the crowd.

Mr Bhupendra was provided primary treatment and referred to Indore. His condition was stated to be out of danger.

Later, police registered the case under pressure by villagers.
