Cars to become costlier in next year
New Delhi, Dec 8, 2007: India"s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, intends to raise prices by up to Rs 12,000 from January. General Motors also intends to raise prices by 2-3 per cent next month, while Hyundai cars too would be up to 2 per cent costlier.
Car manufacturers are citing higher input costs, essentially more expensive metals, fuel and rising freight rates for the hike. The price hikes are typically applicable on dispatches from January.
