JK: STF jawan killed in Gool encounter

Jammu, Dec 10: One Special Task Force (STF) jawan of Jammu and Kashmir Police was killed in an encounter with militants in Gool area of Reasi district late on dec 9, official sources today said.

STF jawan Gagandeep Sharma was seriously wounded in the encounter with militants that started during the search operation launched by the force following a tip-off about the presence of some ultras at Bhatya in Gool, sources said.

Sharma succumbed to the wounds while being evacuated from the site, they said.

The area was immediately cordoned off and the army had taken the charge of the operation.

Three militants were reportedly trapped in the gun-battle, sources added.
