PM to inaugurate 'India Telecom 2007' on Dec 12

New Delhi, Dec 10 (UNI) To discuss new growth drivers for the telecom sector, the industry players will meet here at the four-day 'India Telecom 2007 - Digital Divide to Digital Opportunities' to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday.

The event, starting December 12-15, will be held in association with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) with support of Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), Telecom Equipment Manufacturers Association and Association of Unified Telecom Service Providers of India,'' an official statement said.

The objective of the India Telecom 2007 exhibition-cum-conference is to discuss new growth drivers that are revolutionising the telecom sector in India and around the world and assess challenges and opportunities associated with new technologies and growth frontiers, the statement added.

It will also focus on showcasing the huge potential that India holds in the telecom sector for inviting investments in telecom equipment manufacturing.
