''There is no pressure from New Delhi or anywhere else. Clean chit is provided on the basis of merits of a case,'' Mr Moghe told to the sources here. He explained that the Income Tax (IT) Department took action as per the law.
The department found no irregularity in the IT return submitted by Ms Singh. Investigation of the return submitted by Mr Chouhan was in the last phase and, prima facie, no irregularity was found.
On disproportionate assets worth several crores of rupees being unearthed during raids on the premises of the then Health Director Yogiraj Sharma and several business offices, Mr Moghe said investigation was underway in the cases and the procedure might take some time.
He added that the procedure of submitting IT returns by companies had gone online. However, it would take some time in individuals' cases.
