Talking to newspersons here, Mr Thomas said Dr Singh had agreed for a techno-economic feasibility study on the project.

He said the memorandum, which was signed by the MPs of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa and Kerala, was presented to the Prime Minister on November 27.

Mr Thomas said his party, Kerala Congress (Joseph), would organise a campaign to create awareness on the importance of the corridor from January 12 to 31.

The corridor would be useful for thousands of tourists visting Goa, Mangalore, Kochi, Kozhikode and Kanyakumari.

The corridor, if set up, would save time, reduce pollution and accidents, he added.
