'Lover' held for trying to tie 'mangalsutra'

Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, Dec 10 (UNI) Local people handed over a youth to the police, when he allegedly tried to tie a 'mangalsutra' to a girl whom he loved at the Arts college here today.

Police said Venkata Ramana, a MBA student, who was in love with the girl for the last six years came to the college and forcibly tried to tie the mangalsutra when she came to write her exam.

Hearing her scream, students and people nearby rushed and overpowered him.

He was later taken into custody, police said, adding the girl's parents were against their marriage.
