Bolpur, Dec 10 (UNI) Forward Bloc State Secretary Ashok Ghosh today asserted that the party would not go with the Left Front in the coming Panchayat election and would contest on its own.
Addressing newspersons on the concluding day of the three-day state council meeting of the party, Mr Ghosh said, '' We will fight the Panchayat election alone. And where we are weak and will not be able to put up candidates, we are urging the electorate to vote against the reactionary forces. '' Thrashing the Left Front Government for its industrial policy, he said, '' It's the policy of Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and Industry Minister Nirupam Sen. The policy, which the two are following, is not the industrial policy of the Left Front Government as it is only helping the capitalists. '' Adopting a 14-point programme, Mr Ghosh said even though his party would remain within the Front, but they would continue with their agitation against the Front Government on several issues, particularly the industrialisation.
Commenting on the Nuclear issue, he iterated that the Forward Bloc's six MPs would withdraw support to the UPA Government at the Centre if the latter did not go back on the Nuke deal with the USA.
