Patna, Dec 10 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today accused Railway Minister Lalu Prasad of damaging the sanctity of tatkal ticket by extending its minimum booking period to two months.

Speaking to mediapersons here at the Legislative Assembly compound, the senior Janata Dal (United) leader said tatkal ticket facility was introduced for the railway journey keeping in view the urgency of the passengers for which the travellers would have to pay an additional amount.

By increasing the number of berths and duration of two months for booking tatkal ticket, the Railway Ministry was trying to extract disproportionate money from the passengers, he alleged.

Mr Kumar claimed that the Railway Minister had imposed several extra charges for goods and passenger trains to run the sector into profit which earned him the self-proclaimed title of ''management guru''.
