Drug trafficker gets 10 years imprisonment

Fatehabad, Dec 10 (UNI) A local court today sentenced a poppy husk trafficker to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs one lakh.

Additional district and sessions judge N P Dewett held Vikas, a resident of Bija Lamba village, guilty under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

The judge announced that the accused will have to undergo a further imprisonment of two years if he failed to pay the fine.

According to the prosecution, Vikas was arrested by the police on June 20, 2005 with the possession of 70 kilograms of poppy husk.
