Former municipal councillor attacked

Mysore, Dec 9 (UNI) A former municipal councillor was injured in an attack by two unidentified persons here today.

Police said former Congress councillor from Mandya H P Nagendra, who suffered serious injuries, was admitted to a private hospital and his condition was said to be serious.

Mr Nagendra and his wife came to the city to meet their son, studying in Ramakrishna Vidyashala.

The attack on Nagendra, a possible Congress contender from Mandya for the coming Assembly elections, comes close on the heels of the murder of Jadeja Ravi, who was also eyeing for a ticket to contest the elections from the same constituency.
