Devotees demand Parshuram Jayanti to be declared holiday

Thane, Dec 9 (UNI) Close on the heels of the Uttar Pradesh government declaring holiday on the occasion of Parshuram Jayanti, lakhs of devotees of Lord Parshuram from Maharashtra have also demanded that the day be declared as a national holiday.

Addressing a press conference here today, Parshuram Sena president Om Prakash Sharma said a memorandum was submitted to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Chief Ministers and others demanding the declaration of Parshuram Jayanti as a national holiday.

He said the demand will be repeated by the devotees till the day was declared as a national holiday.

He informed that Parashuram Mahayajna would be performed soon in various parts of the country including Ujjain, Tribakeshwar, Pushkar of Rajastan.
